ever since ive updated to windows 7 when playing counter strike it laggs.
it will runn smooth for 2 seconds then freeze for a quarter of a second.
what is the problem? my pings are all low. (around 100 ms)

dude, thats high.
a good ping is from 1-20.

framerates at over 130.
loss 0 choke 0 130-160 ms ping.
EDIT: so i just had a video driver crash. the screen went white and i had to hard reset. what is the deal with this shit?

I get extremely high pings on all my xp pcs. they start low, and after about 30 seconds BOOM, 900ms, and then a server kick. I have my filters set to: <100 latency, secure, east coast. I been tweaking settings for my netbook to use and I just got the best ever 24.5fps avrg on a stress test. Maybe my ping is just high due to server load. Its high on the desktop I play TF2 on also so.

But its probably just overload of buyers since its 5 bucks all weekend. Just like tf2 lagged like a bitch till the sale thing stopped.

So it seems that its just lagg. other players movements arent smooth at all. is there anything i can do about this?

do you have your drivers entirely up to date?

otherwise you might fall back to the MS implementation (which is going to be fking atrocious) rather than the hardware vendors.

do you get the lag when you locally host a game?
does it happen regardless of location?
you shouldn't be seeing warping if you aren't getting packet loss.

tracert the server ip, see if you have bad routing.

all right, so i downloaded some new skins. i booted up dust 2 and added a bot. i shot the bot a few times then the screen went this light brown color and i had to hard reset. i restart and the driver installer thing is installing the vcard drivers again. what the fuck just happened?

I updated my dads old geforce card and now I get a good 50fps at crack house. Its not bad. But my netbook cant even get a low ping. I got low pings and good fps on TF2, but it bsods my netbook lul. So yea, gotta buy that better laptop, and as for you konata, update drivers, reset modem/router, check ur connection speed.

yeah. i get 45 fps stable on hawx max with 8xaa.
i was noticing today that on crysis on medium my performance degrades as its running. The audio is fucked up too.

system restore back a few days to when you had no issues. Recall everything you did, and test it one step at a time.
