1gb is for resoultions of higher than 1440x900 with x2 AA.

1gb is not needed, also get this ->

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102864&cm_re=5770-_-14-102-864-_-Product

Future proofing, performs like 4850 and has 1gb of gddr5 and dx 11 and uses alot less power

this is a bad generalization, it's becoming pathetically easy to blow over a 512mb framebuffer.

The reviews for that card are amazing, good find.
I may consider using this card now in my future ventures, thank you.

I just got a 5770 haven't tested it out yet but its on my AMD X2 5400+

I think this card is going to be a monster.

By the way if your have vista(Win7) or want to play in direct X 11 then 5770 is the way to go

The 4890 is somewhat older ( no direct X 11)

The HD 5770 performs slightly worse than HD 4870 1GB or the GTX 260 896MB cards, which cost the same as the HD 5770.

If you're looking for performance for current games, I would suggest the HD 4870 or GTX 260. If you want to be able to play DX11 games when they start coming out, get the HD 5770.

However, I don't know how well the HD 5770 will be able to perform down the road when DX 11 games come out, so you might want to take that into consideration.

take into consideration that a 5870 takes less power than a 4890, also there is no need to buy something more expensive when this card does more than enough work.
