If I could smack you through my screen Ruyuk, I would.

Get a desktop if you want more power with less mobility.
Get a laptop if you want less power with more mobility.

As for brands, I'd recommend Acer for a cost-effective desktop, and Gateway or Dell for a laptop. (I've had both, both worked great and were cheap)

Totally agree.
Ruyuk shhhhh please.
As stated above, Laptop is portable but a sacrifice is the decreased performance. Desktop has high performance and upgradability while it is less portable.

The cheapest option is to build a pc your self or pay a PC shop to build one for you.

Where exactly do you live?
If in USA or Canada, then use Newegg.
If in Australia, use MSY/XPMicro/PCDiy

Desktops are always better, but you can get a laptop that will be able to be swaped on atleast the GFX card.

Desktop if you're gonna stay at home most of the time when you use your computer and you demand power.

Laptop if you're on the move a lot, and you don't really need too much power to game/do editing and shit.

Also, get a laptop if you're living in a dorm for university of something. Desktops take up too much space in your room, and those dorms are fucking small.

Like mentioned, it all depends on your needs. What are you going to use it for, how often, what are you going to do on it, etc etc. It's all about preferences and what suits you best.

Even if it is welded in, its a decent spec laptop for its price. Anyway, buy a desktop. Or, post your expense limit and let people around here help you make something decent.

Desktop as long as you dont mind not being able to putt in on the top of your lapp. Desktop = a lot of memory, and time that can be spent on it, and no charging!
