You need a 64-bit OS to use all your ram available. |

It's proberly because you got 2x3 ram and 32 bit can only run 4 gb but since it's 2x3 it can only run one of them
edit: 4.0 is a very poor rating |

I don't think any companies make 3GB RAM sticks, and maximum addressable RAM does not work that way. I'd guess it's some strange combo of 2*2GB and 2*1GB sticks or 3 2GB sticks running in single channel mode or something. 32-bit operating systems, as far as I'm aware, can address a maximum of 4294MB or so of RAM, however the operating system reserves the space above 3GB, when applicable, for I/O devices. _________________

more than likely the rest of the space is just getting mapped for his video card among other things. |

Yes, you will want to upgrade to 64-bit. You'll have to do a clean install.
Also, pirate much? |

Didnt vista have a tweak to make 32bit use all ram? I'm pretty sure ultimate UI tweak for vista could do this. Wait for it to adapt to 7. |

This is a limitation due to the basic architecture. There isn't a software "tweak" that can fix it.
Of course, they could just use PAE. |
