That would be a complete overkill.
It only requires a 450-500watt PSU

What you have now is more than enough, it'll be fine. It's good because with that you will always be able to upgrade to something like a 4870 later.

| Okay, im getting some mixed results. The reason I want to change it is to cut price, but i guess if i want to upgrade my graphics card later i have to keep what i have, thanks though.

This. Hell, it probably wouldn't even need that much. Just get Corsair's 400W PSU and you'll be fine, even if you wanted to upgrade to a 5870 or something equally as ridiculous (which, contrary to popular belief, uses less power than the 4870).

So the 450W psu will be more than enough?

I mean, really the majority of what companies are doing as they advance in computer technology is not just finding ways to make things more powerful, but making more powerful things able to run in a normal environment. For example, Intel could make a quad-core, 5GHz processor if they wanted to, but they wouldn't get anywhere close to making it able to run in temps that wouldn't spontaneously combust. So it makes sense that it uses less power, I mean they are making more advancements than just raw computing power.
