|
latly my computer has been lagging alot, and when i check my comp status, it shows me that my processor is getting it up the ass. simply running firefox puts it to around 60% or more, and i cant watch movies in fullscreen anymore, or even a small video. simply lowering lights on hulu takes about 15 seconds to do. its a 2.6ghz, so its able to handle simple firefox, or should be able. ive run virus scans that turn up clean, so it hopefully isnt that. little help here??

That.
uTorrent is a huge resource whore (correct me if I'm wrong). Terminate that and check again. (aka stop downloading porn)

its not taking anything... overall, everything lags. web browsers and AV and similar programs though, take abnormal % of my cpu. also, svhost seems to demand about 40%

then you probably either have a service that is doing something not good, or you're infected with something.

What AV do you use?
Also try booting into safe mode and see if there's any improvement.

Utorrent doesnt hog cpu at all. But it does hog internet speed if you are downloading something bigish. It looks like he has a virus.

Some have more then others, but they could be SVChost virus. Its a virus that shows as svchost. I had one kind of it once and it would make my pc constantly try to access a few phishing sites. Had to reformat.
