i burned the windows 7 files in a dvd
when i press f8 and select the dvd drive, my computer starts up
it does not boot the dvd but it boots itself
help

all i did was burn the files to the dvd

Are you currently using Windows? You can install Win7 directly in Windows, just run the setup from the disk.
Can't remember exactly how to make a disk bootable, but there should be some kind of option when you burn it.

i found the "bootable" option
do files to be burned have to be a .iso?
EDIT: i use winxp and nero

Not necessary I think. Just add the files and folders and burn it as a bootable DVD.
You can run the setup directly in Windows.

You can run the setup directly in Windows. | I wouldn't recommend running it in Windows. That really is an option for people who don't know much about computers, so that they can install Win7 with as much ease as they would a program.
