I can't buy the ultimate as it is too expensive.

If you are a student you can get Win7 Professional for $40.

If you work at a business that sells Microsoft products you are eligible for the Microsoft ExpertZone thing where you can buy Win7 Ultimate for $10. All the applicable companies are on a list there so you can check to see. And I think you must be a full time worker, not part time. You can also get X360 games and whatnot for cheap there as well.
