Users who have Vista with SP2 install gets a surprise update from MS.
If you got it, then go to run and type in dxdiag and you shall see it.

DX11? Although you need DX11 hardware to fully utilize it.

I've set my updates to manual install and Vista update has update itself. The interface is now exactly like Win7's
And the silent update is DX11 and yes superweapons is correct, you won't utilize it unless you have a DX11 card.

Notice the DX10 one has a hexagon around the part of the gas mask, while the DX11 is a circle.

Real-time tessellation. Awesome.
@kls: So the Windows UI completely mimics Windows 7 now? What do you mean?

It's just the Windows update itself that has changed to the looks of Win7 all other UI are still the same.

This is wrong, DX11 allows new features on DX 10 and 10.1 hardware as well. They are somewhat gimped in comparison but you do get goodies.
DX11 has 3 feature sets, which most programs should be capable of falling back to. Sub-DX11 doesn't get tessellation (since it needs specific hardware support) but a (somewhat gimped) version of compute shader is exposed. DX11 is properly threaded as well which can be taken advantage of.
There's prob some other shit I can't remember, but yes, DX11 does have benefits for DX10 class hardware

Q1 2010 WOOD SCREWS 1.7%
Maybe it will be a rebadge of a rebadge of a rebadge of a rebadge. I'd bet 1.7% of my wood screws that some lower-end product during this generation will be just that.

it's SUPPOSED to be an entirely new architecture...
either way i'll be waiting until the refreshes / new generation.
by then DX11 will have it's footing
