Is there any way to increase torrent speed on uTorrent? I have the allocation set to High and the files priorities set to high but I'm only pulling 5kb/sec with 120 seeders.

Force download and forward your port.
Don't change any of the bandwidth or priority settings, those will more than likely make it go slower.

Thanks, port forwarding multiplied the speed by about 15x I'm downloading 13GB of stock footage for a project so this helped a lot.

Apollo wrote: | cap ur upload speed | This too, but only if you're getting a really high upload and a low download. Like sometimes I get 100kbps DL and 600kbps UL. If I cap the upload to 100kbps, the download usually goes up to like 200kbps. Sometimes, however, it won't change at all. But be careful, if you set it really low (pretty much anything below 100kbps) your download will drop precipitously, and won't necessarily go back up.

Try downloading from a private tracker.

open your torrent designed port and set a ridiculously high amount of peer slots for your torrent, like 4000 connections at the same time
it will consume all your brandwith and you wont be able to use the internet for other thing that downloading with that torrent. (( thats of course if your torrent haves enough amount of peers and or seeds

It's best to cap open connections at as high as you can go without killing your connection to other programs. Any more can potentially hurt performance. 4000 will skullfuck your router most of the time.
