|
|
I used Filezilla, latest version, and I also tried Firezilla, the firefox FTP client.
The username, password, address, port, it's all correct.
I get a 530 error wrong password EVERY TIME.
I went to live support, they said it was working fine, and they logged in from my username and pass and it worked.
It also works for other people that I let try it out.
BUT I CAN'T LOG IN.
WTF.
I don't have a firewall or anything, I went and turned on Windows Firewall and added Filezilla as an exception but it still won't work.
Any idea what the problem is? |

Try disabling your router's firewall (assuming you have one). _________________

Firewall is off.
If I plug straight into the modem would that make a difference? |

Modem has a firewall too.
I'm assuming you've tried changing the username/password? Or how about disabling u/p and see if you can connect? Are you using the filezilla server, or a different ftp server app? _________________

If you get bad password obsiosly an firewall can't be blocking. The error message is returned from the server which means your client can speak with server.
What mode are you using? Try not to use passive. _________________

I went through the network connection wizard in filezilla, with these results.
Connecting to probe.filezilla-project.org
Response: 220 FZ router and firewall tester ready
USER FileZilla
Response: 331 Give any password.
PASS 3.2.8.1
Response: 230 logged on.
Checking for correct external IP address
IP 192.168.1.102 bjc-bgi-b-bac
Response: 510 Mismatch. Your IP is 24.5.102.79, ce-f-bac-hj
Wrong external IP address
Connection closed |

Judging by that, the program is looking at your IP address, mistaking your internal IP address for your external IP address then comparing the mistaken internal IP address with the external IP address as seen by the server. Since the two are different, it's failing and disconnecting. Probably some anti-proxy measure or something.
I'd suggest connecting the computer directly to the modem to see what happens. _________________

When I plug straight into my modem, I can't connect to the internet.
I tried changing from static to dynamic IP and it still didn't work, so I switched back to static and router. |
