I've just downloaded C# and I wondered if I should bother learning it...
I'm just wondering if I should learn C# or C++
I'm moving on from the dark, shitty ravine, called Visual Basic. _________________

C# is pretty excellent, especially if you plan on doing a lot of GUI work. |

Yup, you can use managed DirectX or use XNA which is attached to visual studio.
Just go for C/C++ when you want to do low level stuff _________________
