|
|
Hey,
I was wondering if there's any way to disassemble a trainer in order to see it's original structure? It'd be a great help for me to be able to see how a trainer is built, firsthand. Does anyone out there know a way of doing this?
Thanks in advance.

This is highly frowned upon in the gamehacking scene.... and for many, such a question is walking a very fine line between merely being inquisitive and being an option ripper.
That said, a trainer is like any other application and can be dissasembled and debugged just like any other application. So in response to your question(s);
Can a trainer be dissasembled to reveal it's 'structure' - Yes
Does anyone know a way of doing this - Yes
If you are curious to see how a trainer is built then may I suggest browsing through source codes to trainers pre-compilation. This course of action will provide far more insight into their structure and function.

for most it is enough to set a breakpoint or a hook at WriteProcessMemory and read out the given parameters

Oh geez. Sorry if it seemed like I was trying to steal code from other users, that wasn't what I was aiming for. I've tried to find source code for programs before, but the only code I can find on the forum is for CE itself. Rather than taking apart programs, can someone just send me a link to a source code thread?

I highly suggest against "learning by example" - this is one of those fields where it helps to learn what you're doing before you "just do it".
