I know people not searching google pisses you off, burningmace if you are happening to lurk, so I googled it first.

I opened up windows media player, "hey I should burn a fucking CD!". I added all the music I want into the list, popped in my 700mb audio CD-R, hit start burn. It ejected my CD like a retard, so I put it back in. It did not even detect it. I use the same exact disk for many installation CD's. So I went ahead and tried real player. I put the same exact songs in a playlist, selected them all, hit start burn... didn't do shit. The "writing" light came up, but then eventually stopped and real player just spat an error in my face. I tried one last option: Totally Free Burner. It also failed, after adding all of the songs in the list. Mind explaining why this happens, and how I can burn a damn cd?

If it helps, I have two CD drives, only one is RW compatible.

Can't be the CD's, because I have burnt a music CD with a different computer, only I no longer have access to that particular one.
So it has to be the drive... maybe if I switch it to the CD-R one?

But using another computer doesn't guarantee the CD is non faulty

Tried with another one? If you can't get it to work then use a different burner regardless

There's a possibility that either the burning laser or the electronics that control it have failed.

Can you test the burner in another machine? If the fault still occurs, it's the burner itself, otherwise it's something on your PC.

It can't be, since I can perfectly burn ISO's. And before I had my current PC, my office computer worked fine on burning Audio CD's.

If it's a CD Burner I suggest taking Audio CD Burner Studio, find it in google. It's stable, fast and easy to use.[/b]
