I just reformatted so im running on bitdefender. Usually eset would block its connection to the pc. But its a virus that uses a hole in adobe to crush your pc. Possibly what happened before.
I deleted it and i gotta update adobe reader to make sure it doesnt happen. Ill know in a few days i guess.
It spreads through ads so it could happen on any site.

Adobe reader is so loaded with exploits, it's ridiculous.
Probably a good idea to use noscript on firefox to avoid this shit. As far as I know, one of the exploits a while back could run code without any user interaction at all. Not sure if this has been fixed yet, but adobe reader is a pile of shit.

Get HiJackThis and create a log file and upload it here, I'll check it for you if you want. Or if you want to trust the 'experts', I think you can upload it to their website and they'll have look for you. Furthermore, eww Google Chrome </3. Opera 10 ftw.

Nope my chrome auto downloaded it. This pic is on firefox. I just reformatted again because i screwed somethingup. I have liek 3 windows.old folders now, but everything is in order. I guess something was wrong on my old installer. This install shuts down in 30 seconds. The last one took 2 - 3 minutes.

As long as it isn't running, a virus is entirely harmless on your computer. But the second you run it, it multiplies and multiplies and multiplies. It'll go in your startup folder, it'll infect critical OS files, etc.
So if you know you have never run this thing, you can just get rid of it with no hassle.

There was a flash exploit that could infect you too a while back. It's probably fixed now, but who knows with adobe.
Yes indeed, one flash ad could potentially keylog you.

k, I would press ctrl+alt+del open task manager see if the process is running delte it and I would delete it from you'r computer
Secondly Sometimes in runs in a hidden process like explorer.exe
also try your regidet and see if anything is there

Well, that's great! But why do we update virusscans of they just do that?
Here's why: Because you don't know. There are a million ways to exploit your computer. Virusses don't all do the same. Some do whatever you said, but some are aimed at annoying the user by disabling the cursor or screen. Or they make annoying popups, or even a huge load. But they don't all do the same.

Some do whatever you said, but some are aimed at annoying the user by disabling the cursor or screen. Or they make annoying popups, or even a huge load. But they don't all do the same. | They do all multiply, if that's what you're getting at. In fact, it is in the definition:
Quote: | virus: a software program capable of reproducing itself and usually capable of causing great harm to files or other programs on the same computer ... |
Quote: | A computer virus is a computer program that can copy itself and infect a computer without the permission or knowledge of the owner. ... |
Quote: | A dangerous computer program with the characteristic feature of being able to generate copies of itself, and thereby spreading. Additionally most computer viruses have a destructive payload that is activated under certain conditions. ... | So yes, they all may do a different thing, but they all multiply. And it is just in the nature of the way that Windows runs that a file cannot do anything unless it is run.
So I'm sorry, but you're wrong.
