I only got 1GB right now, and I wanna get 2GBs for my computer. And I heard that I have to buy 2x1GB sticks rather than 1x2GB stick for my computer or else there will be problems or something.

And is 240 pin types all that it takes, or does it accept other types?

I'm currently looking at this http://ncix.com/products/?sku=19337&vpn=OCZ2P800R22GK&manufacture=OCZ%20Technology but the speed is 6400 and my mobo only supports 4200 mb/s.

If you guys could find a good deal for me in Canada, that would be great as well.

Anything here works. If it's too fast (PC2 6400, for example) the mobo will just underclock it.

EDIT: The RAM you linked to would work too, but it's a bit pricey considering considering how relatively little stress it'd be put under.

I only plan to use this computer for like another year, so I really don't need any brand name stuff or anything.

Why cant you just have a 1gb and 2gb chip inside it? Do pcs still use dual channels? I thought they could run side by side just fine on a new pc.

Well my mobo can only hold up to 2GB of RAM maximum anyways.

No need to get 3GBs.

Edit - Aw crap. Just put in the RAM stick. Booted up my computer, and the screen just shows lines and stuff on it and static-like things. It works after I pull the stick out though.

Any ideas why this is happening?

I'm not getting any sounds coming from my computer.

Just that static shows up on my screen. I will stick it in and try again. I'll post results in a bit.

Edit - Alright, I'm back. There are still no beeping sounds from my computer.

The screen starts off with random static lines, and then it went black for a second and then started flashing repeatedly changing from dark green and brown lines to white and light green lines.

You are a smart fuck.. 8 gigs virtual ram is just as fine as 2g real.. And yeah... Virtual is freeeee..
