Is it possible? I know they cannot mix, which is not an issue. I just wanna know if I can put ddr2 in a pc that had ddr1. This pc is built not bought. It should support it. I gotta check the brand.
edit: ok need a new mobo that can support this old gefore 7200, because im too cheap to buy a new one of that too.

DDR2 can not fit in a DDR slot, as it uses different voltages and pin setups (i.e. you won't even be able to fit it in).

It says psu -400 at the top and then it says max power 380w. Im not sure which is what But Im pretty sure its 400w.

What kind of P4? There's socket 478, socket 423, and LGA 775. With the former two, you will have difficulty finding an new board. LGA 775 still has high market penetration. You can pretty easily tell between the prior two and LGA 775 by the design of the socket: LGA 775 has the pins on the motherboard, while the older socket 478 and 423 have pins on the CPU. Well, there's only 1 socket 478 board on Newegg; you'll have to look elsewhere if you have a 478 P4.
You might just want to keep it the way it is. Spending a chunk of cash on an obsolete machine is far from the best idea. Use it as a home server.

Its atleast 2 or 3 years old. It was the last one they made I believe. They dont really make p4 anymore do they? I know the cpu is pinless. Its the flat kind with the pins on the mobo.

| His matches the one for the pentium 4/extreme which is also the same as a core2duo. It might work then.
