right now im looking at qwest and comcast. the comcast is 20mbps down and 5mbps up, but it is cable so the speed will fluctuate, and there is a 250 gig bandwidth cap. the qwest is 8mb/s down and 796kbps up, but its a dedicated line and its got no bandwidth cap. what do you gous think is better? the qwest is $45 and the comcast is $55 or something.
im leaning twoards the qwest cause i torrent alot. _________________

| Comcast works for me, my speed is usually about 10 down and 10 up, on good days it's 20/15, on bad it's 5/10, and I haven't had a bandwidth problem so far (didn't even realize there was a cap.) |

Nothing, it's included in the rent.
The plan includes a shit load of TV channels so it's probably up in the $200-$250 range. |

DSL isn't exactly a dedicated line like you imagine, it's a misconception |

Think of it this way.
With Qwest, it will take a month to download 250 gigs.
With Comcast, it will take a few days, but then you can't download for a month.
Would you rather get everything you want, but slowly?
Or get a few things you want absolutely right now? |

I've got a 7GB/day cap... I can hit it in under a half hour. All I have to do is change my MAC address and I get a new cap.
Nobody said the IT guys at the university were smart. |

You just said nothing at all.
OP, I guess go with the Comcast cable. You should know better than us about your downloading habits, but slovach is right about how much 250GB really is to download. |

I am currently using TPG 200GB ADSL2+.
Someone on this Random Spam forum gave out free a free porno username and password. Seriously unless your going to download millions of porno's from a paid subscription 24/7 your never going to pass 200GB let alone 250GB. Personally between those 2, I'd choose comcast as it's faster, and 250GB is usually more then enough. _________________
