I've had a lotta fun with CE on the classics and emulators but I noticed on the more recent games that it's harder to hack. The numbers jump all over the place every time I change maps/zones/load/whatever. They also jump around as stats in a class (the programming kind of class). I've seen stats in classes in WC3, HoMMV, Spellforce 2 all over the place. Sometimes up to ff ff ff apart. I really miss analyzing the 15 line by 16 hex grid and seeing an entire character within that area. And it's harder to find the tricky things like in HoMMIII where the skills are organized with 1C set that gives the level and another 1C set that gives the order and a last 1 byte digit at the end of that that determines the amount of skills you currently have.
Are there any plug ins that will make some kind of anchor so everything is simplified like it was before?

No, you have to adjust to the new size of structures.
You can still analyze the memory by just look at the memory, health and other stats is still close to eachother (usually within a 4KB range)
HoMMV is still easy. E.g to find stats andf you have 7 defense 7 attack 4 spellpower and 6 knowledge you'd do a array of byte scan for "
7 00 00 00 7 00 00 00 4 00 00 00 6 00 00 00"
also, c8 bytes after those stats is the address that stores how far you can walk. The resources and gold are also close to eachother, sure there are some duplicates, but it's easy to test them out(instant change in the game)
But to make it a little easier you can always try memoryview->tools->dissect data, and there(let it or not) fill in regions of memory that you can use to view the structure of memory

| New size of structures? Seems to me Microsoft programmers have taken over the game industry in some sneaky way. It's a new conspiracy. I can't imagine these new structures being very efficient. Not to mention the way they use 4 Bytes for every single thing. I bet I can find 4 Byte Booleans in there somewhere.
