Cheat Engine

I'm putting them together tomorrow. But I was looking at them, and I looked at the HD4870 and it said on the box that it requires 500W, but superweapons suggested I get a 400W. Do I have to go out and buy a 500W PSU now?

more than likely, you will be hard pressed to even come close to 400w of draw. amps are fine on it as well. you're golden.

The PSU should be fine. Amperage means more than watts in these cases.

Personally id get a 600W just so you can change video cards when the time comes.

An HD5850 would run on it. It draws the same amount of energy as the HD4870 does, but is nearly two-fold faster than it; higher performance doesn't have to come at higher energy consumption in every case, especially when crossing generations. My current rig runs on it (OC'd GTX 260) as well. Getting a 600W PSU might even be worse, offering an iffy 24-25A with the cheaper PSUs.
