Hello fellow cyborgs.
I would like advice, I purchased a 16GB Flash USB drive off ebay for 13.95 us which I thought wow, not bad... but here is the problem. ITS SLOW at 2Mb/s optimized for speed 600Kb/s optimized for quick removal.
and it can't format into NTFS no matter what I do, it tries and fails.
So basically it sucks.
Any good ones out there around 20Mb/s+ 16GB+? let me know, name... brand and where to buy.
Or, should I just dump $100 into an external 1TB hard drive (the WD mybook)
ideas people, I need ideas!

| any usb will work usually. you can get a 4gb sandisk for a cheap 12 bucks..

| Ya i just bought one today actually to dual boot tinyvista on my laptop. But im having issues making it boot it because it has no exe file on the iso.

My 2.5" external hard drive using PATA does 25MB/s sequential.
Also, OCZ Rally 2 flash drives do 12MB/s sequential. I don't know about many other brands.

USB 3.0 Is coming out in the next month or two I believe, I would wait until it comes out and look for a external HDD with 3.0 .
3.0 Is supposed to do Gigs a sec...sounds so sexy!

I just installed full ultimate vista and its fine. Now you will need to make the usb a NTFS format. You cannot do this with windows because it only lets you use FAT32. There is a HP program http://www.bootdisk.com/plan081009/hpflash1.zip and this is 100% free. It will format it how ever you desire. It worked for me. AGAIN, this is 100% free, NO WARES.
This only applies to the sandisk cruzier i mentioned for 12 bucks (4gb). Others may worth with windows formatting.

No reason to do that when the current eSATA is still faster for hard drives.
