As title says my wireless adapter just dissapeared, I have not installed anything that could affect it as far as i remember, I'm using Win XP pro sp 3. Wireless chipset is Atheros. It was working fine and now windows can't see it. Tried reinstalling drivers and rebooting, doesn't help, it's not even listed under device manager. I thought it broke but then i booted backtrack and it could see it, so seems like it's not a hardware problem after all, when i reboot to xp it's gone again, sometimes at windows startup it shows for just a second in tray and goes off again. After some reboots it appeared and was working until another reboot. I am kind of lost, please share your opinion if you have any idea how to fix it.

If it's a laptop, could you have accidentally hit the wifi-switch or Fn+F2 Radio toggle or something?
