Yesterday I was on the computer everything was fine, the only notable things I did was install photoshop CS4, cancel a microsoft update for vista to SP2, figured I could do that tomorrow since it was getting late, and install an update(1.5) for a game called The Witcher.

My computer runs Vista home premium.x64, if you need additional info just let me know.

Now unfortunately after I turn computer on and log in it freezes after about a minute everytime, I can move mouse but everything refuses to load, double click a txt, it'll just give me the loading mouse icon and never pop up.

I tried doing a system restore to 2 days ago, no luck there I tried uninstalling photoshop, but apparently it would not let me uninstall it in safe mode, bummer. So I instead just deleted everything of it that I could find. However still no luck.

I have no idea what this freezing is caused from or how to fix it I would really appreciate some help. >.<

Boot it up in safe mode and after it has started up, let it sit for a while. A long while. Afterwards, try disabling every single startup program. Make sure absolutely no programs start up when Windows does. Then start up normally. Again, let it sit for a long while before trying anything. Then try doing the Windows update.

If you can't even follow these steps, or you do and Windows update doesn't work, you might just have to reformat.

It seems my smart security has kicked the bucket, wonder what made it so agreesive against my computer.

Anyway, looks like I just have to get a new firewall and antivirus, reinstall photoshop, and I'll be all good again.

Phew worry/anxiety replaced with relief, ahh that feels good. ^^
