Okay so I fucked up my MSI Wind u100 netbook and I'm looking how can I reformat when my keyboard doesn't even work, but only the touchpad?
I'm looking into buying a USB CD drive and was wondering is there any cheap one out there that does the job perfectly?
I don't want to reformat it with a USB since I have the recovery disc for it.
I'm at suppose to buy a USB CD drive, DVD drive, or
Optical drive (same as CD drive?) so it can work with my recovery disk? |

Just hook up a USB keyboard, and make sure your netbook is bootable from USB devices before you get a USB optical drive.

Both CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives are forms of optical drives, and a DVD-ROM will read CDs as well. |

Can't I just change my boot up order in the bios?
I have a MSI Wind U100.
Got any good USB drives out there? |

Yes, assuming your netbook supports that. I'd imagine it would, but I would definitely check in the BIOS before I ordered anything.

I haven't used a USB CD-ROM in years. I'm sure there's a way you could do it with a flash drive, but I've never tried. |

I know I can do it with a flash drive, but I don''t want to use a different OS since I got the recovery disk for it. |

What OS is on the recovery disk? |

Window XP Home Edition.
I don't want to pirate the OS since I don't have a product key and most product keys that are posted are useless since they don't work. |

If the OS is still operable, you can use a keyfinder to figure out the product key used on your OEM copy, then get a clean iso off of a torrent site. It will still be legit since you're using your own key. I would recommend this so you don't have all the crapware from your restore disc.
Otherwise, you could copy everything from your restore disc onto your flash drive from another PC. |

Okay, so you're saying if I pirate my Window Home Edition OS, I can just use the product key under the bottom of my netbook for it to work? |

usb keyboard which has been mentioned. You should be able to boot off an SD card if it has a slot. |

I got no SD card
Is it hard to pirate my OS to a USB then reformat it through there? |
