hey guys im looking for a laptop to edit well everything on it im not too picky about OS right now because windows ... well isn't the greatest but I've never used mac so is it hard to learn?

so my question is what do you recommend to get I don't care how much as long as its not like 20k thx a lot Very Happy

Well we do really need a budget, and also unless you ABSOLUTELY need it to be a laptop, a desktop would be more cost effective.

You really don't want a Mac. You end up paying at least 40% of the total cost on the brand name, if you break it down. You also are extremely limited on what you can do on a Mac as well. But if you don't like Windows either, I would suggest going with some variation of linux, like Ubuntu.

actually thats what i was just thinking rlly the only reason i want a laptop is notes for school so ill just buy any peace of crap so yeah lets go with a desk top mines really outdated uhh well im planning on working for minimum wage so lets just say 2k limit

But, if you only plan to use it for school work, Mac is a really awesome computer. You can play a few games at your mac aswell, if you'd like to, Call of Duty 4, Frozen Throne, Command and Conquers etc... Though i only bought it cause i was lucky to be able to get my MacBook 60% off through my school. Its much faster than Windows, and has alot of awesome features (Exposé, Spaces etc.).

A Mac isn't faster than anything (everything?) else just by being a Mac. But I'm really not going to start that. Rolling Eyes

OP: You can get a cheap dual core on sale for about 500, then save up for a gaming computer, if that's what you're into.

You need to take a look at your daily routine and then decide on a laptop that best suite your needs.

Travel a lot and always on the road: A small and light-weight laptop will be your first choice.

I recommend doing what kls85 said and then going to a local bestbuy and test what laptop fits you. Hp is good Smile
