New Eee PC or Desktop upgrade?

Shitty old desktop, but it works great.

Or an awesome net book I can take wherever and war-drive? Hell even buy a shoulder-strap backpack and carry it around all bad-ass like.

Eee PC seems better though. Still, I don't have any plans for what I should upgrade. Hell, an upgrade could cost more.

What would you personally choose?

Go do some research on the technology build in to a Eee PC or any other netbooks before you make your final decison.
99.9% of the uneducated thinks by getting a netbook, think they got away with a "full featured laptop" for paying 1/4 of the price only to regret it immediately after they got home.

Yeah, I'd recommend the desktop upgrade.
A netbook isn't something most people actually would need over a laptop/desktop.

for around 300$ if you use your old hard drive/dvd drive, you should be able to get a whole new computer that's somewhat decent if you can build it on your own.

Desktop upgrade or save until you can get a whole new build. (Compatible parts -> both.)
That is, UNLESS you have very many places to go and need to have computer access. If you have a need for a laptop, get one.
