|
|
hi, i zipped all my games and files, split it to 1GB per part
then i bought a bunch of 1GB USB storage devices
when i copied the parts, it said USB is full
so i said wtf!?
i clicked on properties, the memory were only 0.98GB, 0.87GB, 0.84GB, 0.95GB, etc
not one even reached 1GB
the shop owner said its normal and all USBs dont reach the expected memory
wtf?
why my 4GB USB is exactly 4GB, my friends 16GB USB is exactly 16GB?
EDIT: was i scammed or not? |

It's not scamming. and the flash drive is currently 0.98GB
you can't force to go over 1GB.
0.98GB maybe the next part you add to the flash drive will be over 1GB?
It must 1GB accurately and not over slightly abit _________________

No, it means what they tell you is 2gb is actually 48mb less than it should be. |

When you buy 1 GB flash memory, that doesn't mean it supports up to 1 GB exactly. You will get lesser than that with a few of MBs. For example, I have a 4 GB flash memory, but the total capacity of it is 3.75 GB althought I bought it considering that it's 4 GB flash memory. So you weren't scammed really, that's just the way it is. |

Can you provide a screenshot of the properties of your friend's flash memory? _________________

Yes, it's Kingston. Best RAMs and USB Memory Sticks. But I really doubt it's actually giving 16 GB. Maybe in the capacity it's showing 16,xxx,xxx,xxx bytes. But actually it would be 15.8 GB or somthing. _________________

btw, what is the largest memory of USB ever invented? is it 32 GB? |
