give us more detail, look in event viewer and give us crash details and exceptions.

That isn't enough information to tell you what is wrong.

VB6 doesn't even have any support for it any more, upgrade.

You don't have the "portable" version do you?

I agree, upgrade to Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition which is free.

Another Alternative is getting Visual Studio Professional which is not free, but contains more then 1 programming language incorporated in the single application. E.G C++ C# VB etc

Express supports this if I remember right, you just have to install the languages as you download them instead of them all coming in one big package.
