You need to give us a budget at least. What do you want to do with it? Does it need to run Crysis at 1920x1200, or are you just going to play something like WoW?

As regards the good LCD monitor, check out Dell's 2408WFP. I own one, and it is the highest quality 24 inch LCD I've ever seen. If you want a rediculously huge one, get a Dell 3007WFP - I use one at work and it's super crazy big. If you can't afford the 2408, check for a 2007WFP (or 2008WFP).
