First, find out what model your computer is (it should say on the case somewhere).
How much memory do you have now?

You want to find the make and model of your computer to find out what type of memory you're looking to buy.
The computer was probably made by a large manufacturer (ie. Dell, HP, Gateway, et al). If you can't find the model on the case (which you should be able to do), download a program called CPU-Z, run it, and tell us what the tabs say.
