|
|
i saw these sites with portable software
the compression was too high
an ordinary software was 100MB but when they compress it and made a portable version of it the size went down to about 40MB
you don't even have to install the file, just open it and the software will work 100%
i wanted to compress my games and apps so i can put it in my 1GB USB then run it from there
does anyone know how to make portable versions of software? |

7-zip is typically really good, though it depends on the file you're compressing as well. |

its not like compressing as a .zip or a .rar
its more like this:
when you open the folder of your software, you can see many icons, files, .exe's, .dll's then there is the launcher for your software
the portable i mean is there is only ONE file you can see, you dont have to install it then the file size sometimes drops by more than 50%
if you dont understand me, try downloading portable softwares then compare them to ordinary software
example: limewire
try to compare the ordinary limewire and the portable limewire |

Are you using ThinApp? Also, does anyone know a way to take apart a portable application? |
