Well i have a Q8200 and my problem is i just want it from 2.33ghz to 2.5 that's it. And no matter how small of an increase, i set my memory timings correct, im pretty sure keep vcore voltage at auto for first boot. And i cant even get to motherboard screen thing i have tried setting voltage manually but it never ever gets to that screen ever. I have looked at toms hardware huge quad guide and tried the things on it but still wont work. Also i wanted to ask how do i know what kind of mode do i pick for my fsb and such like 1:1 or synchronous, how do i know which one?

Are your PCI and PCI-e buses locked at their correct frequencies?

1. Don't use auto voltage, your MB will almost always over-compensate like crazy.

2. Your BIOS should have one way or another of showing you your FSB to memory ratio.

Mine just looks like:
[800 - 800]

which is obvious enough.

3. If you're failing to POST from such a little OC, then something is wrong. Read some guides that go over the settings in detail.

I had a P5N32-E, which is similar to your board. Check that AI Overclock and AI NOS are disabled. Set your CPU VCore to whatever your processor is rated for (look it up) and then notch it up by around +2% (use a calculator). Add about 5 to 10MHz to the CPU clock (leave multiplier alone) and see if it works. If not, you've got faulty hardware.

Also, get the latest BIOS revision if you don't already have it.
