Speedfan doesn't detect my gpu and my cpu has greater temp than when I didn't use a fan.
Is there a better hardware monitor than speedfan?
It would be grejt to know whenever my gpu is at 30 degrees or a 120.
edit:
70 degrees on my quad is not fun. Fans sucks. They only make stuff worse. Seriosly.

Wait, what? Not knowing how to have a decent airflow pattern sounds like your issue. A fan on your CPU should drop the temperature significantly.
If speedfan isn't getting any data, chances are any other program won't either, seeing as they get it from the same place.

| The fan should help a lot. It's got to be installed incorrectly for the results (being worse than before). Look through the manuals for the heatsink and fan once more, if possible.

Two things
1) whats your gpu/cpu ? it helps to know
2) you should try Rivatuner. i would say it is really hard to understand, but gets really awesome when you do, like it can tell you fps, gpu usage/temps, cpu temp/usage during games

If you are idling 70 on your CPU then you have:
1. Some fucked up fan configuration
2. Fucked up heatsink installation
3. Some seriously abysmal airflow somehow

maybe, but it shouldn't matter.
Speefan / Coretemp / WHATEVER will probably be getting their temps straight from the thermal diodes on the actual CPU cores.
In the BIOS, the MB will report it's own temperature reading, which is probably not as correct.
