Get an ISP that offers faster speeds, or try download accelerators/managers, but they don't work for me.

RAM has nothing to do with how fast you download..only piece of hardware that would limit your download in your PC would be a NIC Card (google it)
Your options are..
1: Call your ISP, see if they have a better package with increased speeds for more money.
2: Get an ISP that offers better speeds.
Do note though, that it doesn't all depend on your speed, it also depends on the speed at which the host is uploading the file for you.

1mb per second isn't that bad, but it can go faster.
Try Internet Download manager. It made a 200kb/s speed go to 1mb/s for me.

try limiting uploads. Usually if u limit ur upload speed ur dl speed should increase.

That's not true at all - I don't know where you get this warped idea of upload and download speeds sharing such a direct relationship.

It's about the bandwidth. Lets say that your total bandwidth is 1 MB/s. Your current upload rate is about 400 KB/s, which leaves 600 KB/s as your download rate. If you decrease your upload rate, you will technically be boosting your download speed.
So, yes, it's a direct relationship. And of course, as SF said, it also depends on the host.

That relationship is only true for specific hosts - I've tested such things on my own, and have found no such relationship.

Today's speedtest results:
Not so good today, but I did have quite a few connection problems.
Internet Download Manager can increase that speed my 500%. Imagine those speeds

Free Download Manager is a good tool to increase download speed and has many other features...
Also getting a Plan that has a better connection such as ADSL2+/T1/T2/T3...

Either get better ISP, steal your neighbors internet, or see if maybe your network card is the problem.

this is wrong.
you'll hurt your download if you completely flood your upstream though.
