Lol at Genuine Microsoft Crap, but that isn't important.
You should make a dedicated partition for it, just to be safe. I would recommend Partition Magic, since Gparted seems to have problems with HP systems. Your computer might be fine for a dual boot, but I am not 100% sure.

Yeah, you should be good to go on dual boot. I did that when I used Kubuntu, used a 10gb partition for Kubuntu and the other 27gb for XP (LOL 37GB space)

Not only do you need to do the obvious Uxtheme patching, as well as the other 2 files, this skin requires you to do the obvious ownership-taking, and renaming of Browseui.dll and Ieframe.dll files).
Read the Artists comments at the bottom for more, and like he says, TAKE YOUR TIME when patching files and follow instructions closely, because you can potentially mess up your computer.
Luckily my skinning went well. |
Wrong as of the first beta of UxStyle. None of that's necessary anymore.

Windows 7 also needs a small 300 MB partition for whatever it does (possible bootloader?), you could try it if you want to, it wouldnt hurt anything.

All you have to do is create a new Partition and install Windows 7 on it...
Then when you next turn on your computer, you'll have an option between Windows 7 and Windows Vista... It might say Earlier Version of windows, im not sure....
