|
|
My dad blocked my computer from accessing the internet by blocking its mac address in the router settings, but now he's out so he cant unblock it.
He happened to leave it open so now I'm trying to unblock my PC, but cant seem to find the right setting to change.
The router is netgear, so is anyone farmiliar with the set up, and able to tell me where to look?

You COULD just call the netgear people. As my mother had changed our IP address on accident before, So i had to call them. Your first call to them is free, and you can always just lie to them and tell them its your first call. They will tell you step by step, Or do it remotely for you.

Netgear DG834GU, that shouldnt have too much effect on the situation as I assume all netgear routers have the same control panel. (Mine happens to be 10.1.1.1)

You Definitely do not need to call them, on my D-link router under network filter there is a place call mac filtering and any mac address in the list will be denied access to the internet. Look for something similar to that in your router and remove your mac from the list.

I think I found it, the setting was under Wireless settings. (Which I had checked before) but I had to click a button in it to open another page to access the controlls.
Thanks guys.

If something works in one situation, don't parrot it in another thread if it's only mildly related to the topic at hand.
