It will work; just some worries would be that it could crash on you multiple times, or freeze very often. Your graphics card is a low-grade so I would suggest you upgrade to at least a 5500 GeForce.[The average requirement for games that require good graphics] It cost like only $115.00 USD.

Sims 2... possibly.
Sims 3... doubt it. My PC is better than yours and it struggles to run Sims 3. I have a gig of RAM, I end up using all of it + about a gig into the page file for loading Sims 3.
Check this though: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest
Scroll down to "The Sims 2" and check.

I have an ATI radeon 9550 sitting on the desk right next to me, but the problem is it has these wierd patterns when i boot it up, and i really can't see shit. The radeon 9550 is a great gaming card, (made in around '04-'06), and i'm positive sims 2 would work on it lol.

Why's everyone suggesting these terrible, outdated, overpriced cards?
Anyway, I wouldn't expect it to run very well with essentially netbook specs.

Sims 3 actually uses amazingly little Graphics Memory, my sister runs Sims 3 of a 2ghz 2gig ram Intel Graphics Accelerator laptop, lagg-free.

I ended up finding one of my newer video cards from 2005, and sims 2 works perfectly.
