Finally getting a laptop! Razz So I was wondering if getting a wireless router would work or using around 50meters of ethernet cable to connect the net to my room.

But the thing is, wireless routers can create a loss in internet speed, no? But would a 50meter ethernet cable lose speed aswell? Which option would be the most desirable?

If you could live with a 50 meter cable, or find a way to hide it and make it not-so visible, go Ethernet.

If you really don't want to see that 50 meter cable or can't find a way to hide it, go wireless.

It's preference, really.

I won't be using it outside, mainly inside. Maybe in a few years I'll be using it out.

Wireless is unstable, it depends where you are and what you're doing (i.e gaming)
But if you're just serving the internet just sue wireless
I like wired cause it's stable and doesn't lost any speed.

Bollocks.
I have every computer in my house running on wireless, and it never cuts out.

Just invest in a decent router and go with wireless, Ethernet cable will just piss you off later.
(I have a desktop and still run with a wireless card in it.)

When I'm implying to it being unstable, I'm saying it changes signal, not the internet being cut off, you know it interferes with other things too right?

Use wireless for a laptop, less hassle.

If you're willing to have an ethernet cable and dont want to risk the slight possibility that your internet may slow marginally or even cut out, get an extra antenna.
I sit at a constant 100% signal strength.

People who have a laptop usually don't buy any extra antennae for their laptop just to get better signal quality, they just use what's already build in the laptop, so it'll just be less hassle for them to buy an extra adapter just for better wireless signal.
