SOTW#2: Advertise Your Favorite Drink

Sorry for the delay, it's time to finally announce the winner of SOTW#2. Thanks for all your hard work, and I'm sure you'll all shine some other day.

It's saddening to say, this week (I use this term lightly) judging was not close at all. The majority of those who submitted, did not follow the guidelines. However there are a couple that shined through. While judging, our main concern was the fact that most of these were not ads that became signatures, but they were just plain signatures. The goal of this week's theme, was to advertise a drink and it seems most of you misunderstood. Some things to keep in mind when designing an advertisement, is that you do not place your own name into the artwork. The piece should be enticing, not just some pretty thing that will sit at the bottom of your forum posts.

Without further ado, I'd like to congratulate Deletion for his winning entry.

This piece struck me right from the start, it was one of the only ones to look like an advert, as well as it's simplicity. Design is not all about intricacies, minimalism can work and does work.

Beautiful idea, one look and you can obviously see that Gatorade claims to add back color to your life, therefore revitalization. Would have liked to see something related to sport.

I'll submit the other critiques if there is popular demand.

Critique:

Like many others, the name was unnecessary. However, seeing as the drink is based upon sport, I would have liked to see something more targeted towards a specific audience. Aesthetically, it is quite nice, however there should have been more distinction of the actual bottle from the surroundings. The splatter brushes in the front seems to obscure. On a lighter note, I love the color that you used, and the contrast would bring out the bottle had it been more in focus.
