I always wanted to learn how to make an awesome sig. Will someone tell me the tools I need and a tutorial?

You either need: Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.NET. I recommend Photoshop though.

Psdtuts+ is a good place for tutorials.

When you're just beginning to use Photoshop, there's no need to get C4ds, brushes, or textures. But later on, as work gets better, then those would really add to the piece.
