i do know
resize- change the size
render-???
proportionally- in right sizing so it doesnt look disotrted

You really should read some basic tutorials. Before you start making signatures, you should be familiar with a few common terms.
You hold SHIFT while you resize. >.>

ok say you have a square immage but you want it on a rectangle but if you hold shift then it wont fit
but if you say just resize without shift after you resize with shift is that not pointless?

You don't know what you're talking about, RESIZING THE RENDER WITHOUT HOLDING SHIFT WILL MAKE IT LOOK UGLY, NOT PROPORTIONATE AND DISTORTED.
Making the render fit does not mean you should make EVERY BIT of the render FIT, what must be the focal should be the only one seen on the sig, making the whole body the focal will have you make the render extremely small.
How do you think I made such a big render* fit on my sig? I resized it while holding shift, looks good doesn't it? But if I resize it and make EVERYTHING fit on the sig, it'll result in a very small render.
*Click Thumbnail for render.
