I've been having trouble trying to turn dvdripped AVI files into playable DVDs.
I'm using Nero7.
I think my DVD burner is 8x write speed, I've tried it with both 8x and 16x DVD-R discs.
I pulled the following from the log file that was created after I got the error message; Thought it might help.
Code: | [02:57:53] NeroVision DVD-Video files sorted
[02:57:54] NeroVision Caching of files started

Try Nero Vision. It's made for converting .AVIs and such into playable DVDs.

If you are trying to burn AVI files to a DVD Disc then open Nero Startsmart, be sure you are on DVD Mode at the top, hover mouse over data icon and select "Make Data DVD".

he wants to play the DVDs, not make a data dvd where there would be files, and only playable on a computer. to play it on a DVD player, it can't be a data DVD, you have to first convert the .avi to a dvd format, which nero vision (there are other programs, though) allows you to do.

Most DVD Players I have ever owned played AVI's.
Yes you may need t convert your .AVI files into another format.
There are many such as AVS Video Convertor 6, Magic Video Convertor and Xilisoft Video Convertor...

Update: I can make data DVDs successfully.
I tested burning the project to my HD instead and that also failed, so I'm thinking it must be something in the conversion process, I'll test a third-party conversion program later. Thanks guys.
