well, I decided not to get the Toshiba Satellite, I decided on something i think is more advanced. It is the Always Innovating Computer Company's Touch book. It is a notebook computer that can come with or without a key board. It has an amazing price of $299 without keyboard and $399 with the keyboard. Here are the specs.

* 1024x600 8.9'' touch sensitive screen
* ARM Texas Instruments OMAP3 600MHz processor
* OpenEmbedded OS
* Storage: 8GB micro SD card
* Wifi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth
* 3-dimensional accelerometer
* Speakers, micro and headphone
* 6 USB 2.0 (3 internal, 2 external, 1 mini)
* 10h to 15 hours of battery life (one battery in slate, one in the keyboard)
* 9.4" x 7" x 1.4" for 2 lbs (with keyboard)
* Price: $299 for slate, $399 for slate + keyboard

for more info, go to this website, without the spaces:

would this be a good buy? It comes out in May or June, but I can pre-order it if I want.

@kls85

Due to your comment, heres to proving you wrong. A lot of computer/hardware websites are raving about it. Here are some links, guys. http://www.tomshardware.com/ news/Always-Innovating-Touch-Book-Price,7548.html

It depends. The touch book is a netbook. a Toshiba Satellite is for things that are more intense.

That thing is garbage.
If your going to spend that small of a amount on a laptop then grab yourself a netbook which houses a Intel Atom, 2GB of ram, 120GB HD and Windows XP.

Attach the keyboard and you get additional 15 hours of battery life?!
Total BS!
The longest battery life is 24 hours on a single charge by HP and for that you'll have to shell out 3 grands for it and get a laptop from a reliable company not some Joe who's running in his mom's basement.

ARM is the way of the future... Though i believe it is stupid to buy a laptop running on a chip (OMAP3) that should only be in things as great as a UMPC.

My phone runs the same processor as this Razz Though my phone kicks ass.

well, it's made to run some iPhone apps, and it can host a variety of operating systems, such as Linux or Android, but comes with it's own OP.

Wouldn't you need the iPhone OS?

and of course it can run Linux/Android Razz Linux is ever adoptable to applications, and Android was built for an ARM-based phone.

And, the OP is actually Linux based. So far, the only bad thing I see is that it can't run any windows op's except for Windows CE. However, Microsoft is debating whether or not to make a version of Windows 7 compatible with this computer.

I have a small budget, and the reveiws from tech critics tha I've seen are very good. I don't need the best computer ever, but I want one that is completely new, just put on the shelves, and unique. And, I don't want a phone. I want a computer, where i have a little more freedom to do what i want.

Windows isn't debating whether not to make it compatible with this computer, they are debating whether not to make it compatible with ARM CPUs...

OpenEmbedded is the default OS (not OP?), just like gumstix motherboards.

Do you know what processor model?

This should be it: 600 MHz TI OMAP3 processor (built around ARM technology) and sorry about OP instead of OS. Thinking of something else.
