|
|
Background: Downloaded Maplestory cuz I haven't played in a while, started to install to my C drive, forgot to change the location so I canceled the install and relocated it to my spare drive (L if it matters. nothing else on it.).
Afterwards, I opened my start menu to play and found that all my program folders had disappeared. Went back and uninstalled it from the other drive, folders still not there. Help?
(Sorry SF, lied. Forgot what I had done earlier before I installed mIRC, fell asleep inbetween)
EDIT: System restored 3 times, none worked.

so you're saying that when you hit start and click on all programs, absolutely nothing is there? I hope you tried restarting your computer
and are you sure that's the only thing you did? after you tried to install MS it disappeared?

He said he system restored and failed. I doubt its from installing Maple only thing I could think of is if you installed it from Nexon or some next site.

Not NOTHING, but nothing important.
-Default Programs
-HP Solution Center
-Windows Update
-Winzip
-mIRC
Oh, a restart was the FIRST thing I did.
I didn't check the folder between MS installs, Specific order:
MS install- C drive- canceled before progress was made
MS install- L drive- full install.
Closed installer, went to play, nothing in the folder.
Uninstalled MS
Came here, installed mIRC, asked on the comp chat irc.
SF said system restore, I restored 3 times and it failed due to an unspecified error (all 3 times)
Came back, and now this.
EDIT: Yeah, nexon.net official site. If it was a fake, pretty dam good one, rankings, account login and all.

paint is at: C:\WINDOWS\system32\mspaint.exe, and read some of these that might help:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/AllPrograms.htm
http://xperiencexp.blogspot.com/2005/10/all-programs-menu-missing.html
it might or might not be a little different for vista. sorry can't help any more got to go.
EDIT: also, make sure that none of your program file folders or start menu shortcuts are hidden from some sort of virus or something stupid.
or

Sorry, didn't work.
Although, i found that the "hidden" attribute was shaded under all programs, seeing if that will work.
EDIT: Nvm...
How do i add a folder then?

if your programs are hidden, try unshading that box.
