There is also MSY
CD/DVD don't really have to many option's...
Just choose any DVD Drive that is SATA, and above 16x or above...
Ram you probably looking for 4GB DDR2, 800Mhz, or 1066 which may be a little bit more pricey... 2x2GB stick's are fine, so is 4x1GB but I'd recommend 2x2GB so you can have 2 empty slots if you'd later want to purchase another 2X2GB giving a total of 8GB.
NOTE: With 4GB+ your going to want to run a x64 bit OS... Or you find your self using only 3.2GB Ram approximetely due 32Bit onyl capable of handling 4GB - Graphics card memory...

oh and with the OS what shud i go for? vista xp? (preferebly not linux, no offense to linux fanboy's/girl's)
and LMC is ub3r close to my house so i'd prefer that

Use Vista Ultimate, with the specs you have.
Vista is a great operating system, there's just so many Windows XP fanboys out there.

I agree, Vista Ultimate is awesome and always has been, can't believe people hated it at first, I loved it...
Yes basically all dvd drives will work... As long as they are 5 1/4" drives...
Which I think is all of them...
