Get a proper anti virus/antispyware/firewall, and a strong password to all accounts on the computer.
Update your pc from windows update to keep it up to date.
If this does occur I got a cd with Ubuntu and all my files backed up already.

If it is true, about the virus.. I'm pretty sure it's going to last a lot longer than 1 day.
I still doubt that it's true. If it was this big of a threat there would be heads up from the government or something like it.
It's probably just some attention wh*** who spread out some bad joke for aprils fools.

No, that was extremely misleading. There is a conficker (sp?) virus. It's been around for years and my first computer got raped by it (FUCKING LITTLE BROTHER) like 2 minutes after I did a microsoft scan and found it on my computer.
If you aren't infected, then that's good, have a great Anti-Virus (any one that has a free and a premium version usually works). I like AVG, but if you just get it, you have to know the difference between false alarms and real viruses.
Make sure you have the latest windows updates (they should pop up in the taskbar when there is a new one) and you should be fine.
As for there being heads-up from the government: There are thousands of viruses, this one is just a bit better programmed. There's no need for the government to interfere with Microsoft when the company is doing fucking fine in educating people on it.
There are points that sound weird, but I'm tired and too lazy to elaborate/make it sound better.

err.......... first of all, it's not a virus. It's a worm......... Get it on your computer the creator has control of your computer. If you are infected(won't be if you updated the removal tool and have up to date AV) then find the fucking little bastard, and show how angry you are by deleting it. Trying to pass Conflicker C on is a national and international crime............ so you would be fucked by the world if you try to spread it.
