Cheat Engine

One feature I would really love to see in the next release is a 'Poke'. As powerful as Cheat Engine is, I can't believe it still lacks this useful feature. What I mean by 'Poke' is, after searching through memory, say you have 300-400 results and their being a pain to narrow down, you could simply highlight all of these addresses (selectable by the user of course) enter a value in the poke field and they will all be set to the specified value. Very useful when looking for codes in games to let you know that it is indeed somewhere in those results and a big time saver.

Also, the ability to freeze an address using a hotkey rather than set it to a value once.

Keep up the great work Dark Byte. I really hope you implement the 'Poke' feature at the very least in the next release.

So change all the addresses? That would seriously screw the shit out of the game. One time I changed a value (I thought was gold) and there was some flash error and I got kicked off the game.

You have obviously never used it, it's a very useful tool. I'd use it all the time back in the day when I use to make gameshark codes with my gameshark 3.0 using codemasters software. Excellent feature to poke 50 addresses at once and determine if your in the right direction.

Well, you could add all the addresses and highlight them all (click on the top one, hold shift, click on the bottom one, right click and select change value) Or just pick the ones you want (Ctrl instead of Shift) Same thing basically

sounds cool... "lets POKE all the addreses into this value, if this was an address for the screen, oh ffuck it, lets POKE it," i've never used it, but seeing if u did that to a game, u coudl fuck it up for ur side, hmm gimme an example of where this actually helps

Man i dont know about poking allot of address's like that at the same time?
How is that going to help you narrow down the results.
I do know , your looking for a very nasty game/pc crash or lock up lol.

Or you are trying to poke all the DMA address's you found "if your lucky it" shifts between 2 to 4 or 6 to 8 address's. Not very common for this to happen tho.

I would just do a code injection and get it over with.

Im sorry but i dont see how you can poke several address's at once and narrow any results down. You have to search through, even if it get tedious.

Im not trying to offend anyone, im just not understanding the approach you speak of. I dont think i have ever seen that in any tutorials i have read either.
