Is it normal for a computer with 8 gig ram, quadcore @ 2.83Ghz to take about a minute to extract an episode? (200mbs~)

Isn't it hdd and cpu that make such things faster?
Ram shouldn't make such operations faster.

7-zip extracts a 1GB RAR file containing a video in just about 1 minute, using a 3GHz quad core with 4GB of RAM and a decent hard drive capable of accepting 40-50MB/s (extracting at 17 megabytes per second).
