I recently downgraded laptop from Vista to Xp professional sp3 and tried to reinstall the display driver (Ati radeon xpress 200m) on the computer, it says it is working fine and ask me to restart. After restarting its showing its installed, but its not working. It still wont go up to the resolution it was using on Vista (1280 by 800) and lags when scrolling through the internet.
How could I fix the resolution and get the driver to actually install. Ive tried the 200m for vista and xp but neither work.

Try using Driver Cleaner to remove any traces of your original driver installation and reinstall using the appropriate driver set (XP 32-bit or 64-bit depending on what you're running).

Is that drive compatible for XP? Check your Computer manf's website to see if they have listed XP drivers. Because Vista drivers aren't the same as XP ones, and if they don't have it, Google your computer driver and see if that helps.
The reason its lagging is because your computer is probably using its own generic driver since your's isn't working.

yes, it's compatible for XP. the radeon x200m had drivers for xp before vista came out, it's the same gpu i have in this laptop.
btw, TS, make sure the driver package is named 9-2_xp32_dd_75974, that's the latest one that i downloaded yesterday for the card.

Disable you standard windows driver and make sure you new one is present.
This can be done through the Device Manager.
(Right Click My Computer -> Manage)

Download the latest driver from AMD's website not from your notebook maker as they probably got Vista not XP.
Select integrated category to find it not Radeon.
