Cheat Engine

So far it's only read one CD out of the five I tried. It scratched up one of them (my Windows CD. Go figure.)

Is there anything I can do about it or do I just have to get a new one?

cd cleaner in any game shop, will cost you about £3

New DVD drive? They're usually only about $20 these days.

Try a firmware update. It should resolve some problems related to reading/writing some discs while not other discs-if your DVD drive isn't physically damaged.
